artisan has an exceptional skill for translating what he sees by bringing it forth from a plainly shaped bone. the detail and ability to bring out a very real humpback expression is pure talent. Perhaps, over time, they might try enlarging the tail, perhaps twisting it to the side. I would then buy that necklace as well! :-)

This gorgeous Mayan Jade pendant looks even better in natural light. It exhibits different shades of green, and sometimes (overall) just the tiniest hint of greenish blue. The elliptical shape makes it the perfect touchstone throughout the day as it has a smooth and comforting feel. I also love that it's on an adjustable cord. I have an Indonesian Irian Jaya blue tongue skink, so when I saw a necklace with a lizard on it, I knew I had to have it. It is of a good weight and the carving of the lizard on the necklace matches a leather strap bracelet that I also purchased from Novica.
