Using a resist dyeing method known as batik, K. Baka hand paints the kudu--a woodland antelope found in eastern Africa--on his colourful wall hanging. The Ghanaian artisan blocks in his design by applying warm wax to 100% cotton fabric, letting the red and orange dyes flow over the unwaxed areas.
