Copper and bronze plate, "Peruvian Heritage"

Pre-Hispanic symbols forever linked with Peru appear on this elegant plate by Ana Maria Enciso. The Inca god Wiracocha is the original divinity of the people of Tiahuanaco. After emerging from the waters of Lake Titicaca, this god created the heavens, the earth, and the first generation of giants who inhabited the land in total darkness. Beside the deity, a ceremonial tumi blade depicts a king on the handle.
