The Maya prized Guatemalan jade so highly that a small piece of the stone would be placed under the tongue of the deceased, to open the doors to the afterlife. Pablo Castellanos works with the natural dark green gemstone to create this gorgeous pendant necklace. A substantial oval of the stone is topped by a brilliantly polished sterling silver disc; the pendant centers a black suede cord.
