Ghanaian Artisan Carved Sese Wood Mask with Textured Finish, "Wonderfall"

The artisans of Akoma collabourate to promote a positive self-image for their peers across the continent, seeking to build unity and harmony in Africa. Visualizing this passion, the artisans carve this mask from a sole piece of sese wood, affixing a textured aluminium plate during the process, before finally sanding and varnishing by hand. Each of the three downward-facing triangles aligns to symbolize the stream of wonder that stimulates action.
