Golden Nazca Hummingbird Alpaca Blend Hand Crafted Tapestry, "Nazca Hummingbird"

Designed and crafted by Deborcio Choquecahua of Peru, this beautiful alpaca blend tapestry is the artisan's interpretation of the Nazca hummingbird. The early inhabitants of the Nazca region of southern Peru considered the hummingbird to be a flying deity and would pay homage to it in the hopes that they would be looked favorably upon and not be punished with drought. The artisan uses colors that transition in an ombre effect from gold to brown for the hummingbird, and uses a similar transition of color in the background from deep brown to near white, giving the illusion that the hummingbird is aglow.
