Covered with bright flowers, a grinning skull wears a golden crown. Jose Canil crafts a mask to celebrate the Day of the Dead in Guatemala. "The sculpture's bright colors are a reminder that death is nothing more than the beginning of something new," he says. "In the next life, we are all equal and each of us is a king or queen. We will want for nothing."

I just received my mask and it is simply gorgeous--every bit as nice as the photos on the website. I am looking forward to displaying it in my living room. Nice work!

My kitchen has a lemon and chicken theme. This mask is well made and I love the cheerful artistry. The kids know to rub the beak for good luck!

I found the concept of a skeleton nativity rather bizarre at first. A couple of conversations concerning āthin places,ā where life and death, present reality and the spiritual life intersect, brought me to a different understanding. The pieces are beautifully painted.
