Set between a nativity scene and a band of traditional musicians, a bullfight takes place in the Andes. Spectators gather around while the tradition and color of the corrida de toros – running of the bulls – is played out in vivid drama. This traditional Spanish pageant of valor and grace is equally vital in Peru. Alejandro Chávez crafts the wooden box to house a retablo, or diorama and paints it with floral motifs. The figures are carefully modeled from ceramic plaster and painted by hand.

I havent taken it all out the box, I dont want any parts to go missing. But from what I did see it is so beautiful. I cant hardly wait for his B-day to give it to my Husband. He will be retiring soon (I hope) he has been talking about building a miniature suburb/town, he has a train set he has had since he was a kid. He has been collecting miniature homes and people. I thought this would be a great addition for his project. Ive also bought him a fairy house (made from a Gourd) so I thought this would also look great. I think I got a great deal. The craftsmanship is so right on! Thanks!

I came across Alejandros work on the Novica website and thought it would make an excellent gift for a family member. Alejandros attention to detail and craftsmanship are evident in the beautiful frame. It is a work of art in itself! Thank you Alejandro.
