A beautifully crafted jempinis wood turtle, with a shell of natural coconut, swims gracefully beneath stainless steel tines in this gorgeous kalimba, or thumb piano, by Balinese artisan Trisna Dewi. Traditionally a musical instrument from Africa, this plucked idiophone produces a hollow tone when the tines are strummed. The word kalimba is a Bantu word which means "little music".

I bought this thumb piano for my five-year-old grandson. He is delighted with it. It is easy for him to play with his small hands. The detailing adds to fun of playing the instrument. Thak you, Trisna!
