The movements of heavenly bodies are captured in brilliant colour as Efrain Curi recreates the Inca calendar. Woven in an intricate tapestry, the motifs depict a solar, or huato, calendar but the months, or quilla, are based on the moon. Each required economic, social or religious ceremony.
Titled "Calendario incaico" in Spanish.

This is beautifully made, and the rich colors have transformed the entry hall where it is hanging. It makes me happy to look at it.

When I saw this tapestry on the Novica website I thought it looked amazing, and wanted to add it to my beautiful collection of Peruvian artwork. It reminded me of our trip to Peru back in 2010 when I bought lots of hand woven pieces. The Eden in the Andes is magnificent and is more beautiful than the picture depicts. Efrain you are very talented, thank you for sharing your creative skills with the world and me.
