The elephant-headed Hindu god Ganesha, known as the remover of obstacles, sits peacefully, adorned with an exquisite crown and jewellery; his two upper hands grasping conch shells, one of his lower hands holding a sweet dessert and the other one raised to bless his followers. This stunning kadam wood sculpture designed by India's Ashish Mehta is exquisitely hand-painted with bright red, green, white and black shades on a natural brown base.

I hang Mr Mehtas felt ornaments at the bottom of our Christmas tree, so our cats have something they can touch safely. They hold up well and people comment on how cute they are. This set are a lively flock of birds. I plan on sharing some with friends for their birthdays or holidays. Mr. Mehtas felt animals are so distinctive. Lovely!
