Adinkra symbols cover the legs; these symbols convey popular wisdom. Akofena depicts a war sword and represents heroism and courage, while akoko nan (leg of a hen) is a symbol of nurturing and discipline. Boa me na me mmoa wo is a symbol of cooperation, meaning "help me and let me help you."
