"This sculpture was inspired by my visit to an African reserve, which reinforced my love for wildlife and the need to preserve it from extinction. The sculpture is to sensitize us as humans to appreciate the beauty of the wildlife, which forms part of us as inhabitants of this planet Earth," reflects Kobina Asmah about his newest sculpture. Working with sese wood, the Ghanaian artisan creates a traditional scene of a wild cat looking into the distance, carrying a melancholic but powerful message.

This sculpture of the Benin Oba is rare, but the item I received did not have the richness of the picture. Also the sculptures coloring on the neck had bed a-lot when the item arrived. This was going to be a culmination moment of my current collection. .
