Striving to reinforce local cultural identity, Guatemalan artisan Manuel Delfino creates employment in his community with his small shop where he carries on the family tradition of woodcarving that he learned from his father, carving his first piece in 1993. Here, Manuel carves this vibrant duck from pinewood, hand-painting a tropical floral motif over a rich pink gradient with blue wings.
