Indian Floral Motif Handwoven Wool Rectangular Kani Shawl, "Kashmir Ivory"

Long important to Indian culture and identity, the high mountains of Kashmir and its traditional weaving provide the inspiration for this rectangular kani shawl. Shahid weaves it by hand of cozy wool, creating the weft patterns with bobbins of colourful wool — as many as 75 to 100 at a time — rather than the traditional shuttles.
