Famous for its exquisite flavor and exotic use, the Morchella was once thought to have been created by playful forest demons. Today, these charming mushrooms decorate the Balinese landscapes with their fun shapes, inspiring artisan Yudi Suardi to capture their pretty image in this nature-theme sculpture made from jempinis and benalu wood pieces. The artisan depicts the mushrooms in one harmonious union, polishing them for a bewitching look.

The piece is very beautiful. You can almost see the wings flutter as the hummingbirds feed. It was surprising to me how light-weight it is. And its amazing that it was created from what was basically trash wood.
