Detailed with vivid artistry, this sculpture showcases Wayan Dirga's exceptional carving skills. The hand gestures hamsasya mudra, which in Hindu and Buddhist traditions symbolizes the cycle of energy from the centre of the heart out to the fingers and back. It is used in meditation and yogic practises. Dirga carves the sculpture from noble suar wood and adorns the wrist with an akar bahar or "sea root" bracelet, worn by fishermen from Madura, Maluku, and Bali for protection and good luck.
