Jose Canil Ramos combines Guatemala's Day of the Dead customs with Christian traditions for the design of this extraordinary nativity scene. "I thought it would be fun to make it with innocent skeletons," explains Canil. He carves each pinewood figurine by hand, allowing each piece to bake to achieve an aged, rustic appearance. This nativity scene includes the Holy Family, the Three Kings, and angel, and mule and an ox, for a total of nine pieces.

Joseph's hand and staff, as well as the angel's wings are removed for shipping.

“Very Happy”

Looks bright and colorful - great on Mexican wood and tile table. Just what I wanted, as Im a fan of (sugar) skulls/Day of the Dead. Its on the small side, but certainly adequate. I enjoy this item and am pleased with the item and purchase experience.

“Arch angel Raphael and saint Jose”

there are only 2 left. and they are priceless folk art. I have ordered other treasures from this talented creator...and I am always so happy and amazed by the craft-man-ship. truly me thinks either money goes further where he lives or they need to raise the price. and st rahael the healer is very special to me and my husband....he worked at a hospital named st Raphael in New Haven .....and the day it was purchased lightning struck the hospital and the power went out...and mother superior and the other nuns/care givers were let go
