Indian artisan Gulam Rasool demonstrates his expert craftsmanship with this set of three elephant figurines. Hand-carved out of soapstone, each elephant is covered with breathtakingly ornate designs that exude an air of royalty. Inside each elephant, a smaller elephant is visible behind the intricate openwork.

“Second elephant art purchased from Gulam”

Precious piece and worried about arriving safe and sound. Relieved packaging was so secure took me removal of several layers of wrapping to get to box! Superb crafting of many elephants (my favorite creature) and love round design and substantial weight and size. Only disappointment is not off-white or ecru color as shown online, but a much darker brown or grayish shade. Nevertheless, love his work. Wish Gulam could bring back dyed/colored soapstone that he used to craft years ago. I have one of his pieces of a soapstone multi-colored elephant small box which I truly treasure.
