A young Bihar bride in traditional attire awaits her groom on the cover of this journal from Vidushini in India. The artisan paints the front cover by hand in the traditional Madhubani folk art style, which was once used to adorn the walls and floors of a home. The journal is made of handmade paper and features 40 unlined pages and a spiral binding.

I purchased this to give to one of my dearest friends for her trip to Africa. It arrived at her house only the day before she left, and she immediately called me, in awe of its beauty. She told me later that it was so inspiring that she wrote in that journal almost every day of her trip, capturing precious once-in-a-lifetime moments with some of her extended family members. I then got a second one to give as a Christmas gift to a teenager that I mentor in science and math. She was incredibly touched and thought it was the most beautiful gift she?d ever been given! One day I?ll splurge on myself!!

The painting is of the highest quality, on lovely heavy paper. I am having it matted and framed, and cannot wait to hang it in our home. The deep red background and simple black and white foreground combine to make the painting elegant and beautiful. The concept itself, of Shiva and Parvati joined as one, is unmatched in beauty. To have it manifested with such skill will be appreciated every single day. Thank you so much for sharing this art with us.
