A girl kneels holding her cupped hands to her chest before performing the traditional Thai wai or greeting. The wai is a highly important reciprocal sign of courtesy. Hands are cupped together and the head is lowered while saying Sawasdee Khap, meaning "hello." "I have worked on small figurines to decorate the spirit house, which in Thailand is believed to house the guardian spirit of each home. I was wondering that if I could work on a figurine that is slightly bigger than the ones used for the spirit house, what position and expression should this figurine have?" recalls Duangkamol. "I remembered that our wai greeting has become recognized by people all around the world, and this is how I came to be inspired to create this little celadon girl wearing a Thai traditional costume."

I have always loved the stories surrounding Pegasus. Knew I had to purchase this figurine. It is finely detailed, lovely soft green color, and larger than I expected. Duangkamol is an artist. She truly captured Pegasus in a ceramic medium. Love it!
