Work is never done for the Parish Priest

Product picture

John Barrow, this is exquisite work.! Oh, how I love it, and I want you to know that it will be given to our parish priest in Caro, MI for Christmas. The red cross on his vestments is brilliant, as is the hat. When I saw the colors, as in the picture, I could only say, 'Wow.' This is a beautiful sculpture, John. I am delighted beyond words to have found your sculpture of the parish priest on Novica. Great work. This sculpture is definitely of a studious priest going about his work. Nice job expressing this, John.

My third one! Yes, they're that good!

Product picture

I bought the first one for myself as a confirmation gift because one of our Deacons, in a class for new Catholics, said every Catholic home must have a few things - one of them was a statue or photo or painting, etc., of our Blessed Mother Mary. I bought the second for a woman in my Bible study, who is from Peru and just moved into a new home. I bought the third one for my sister, because when she saw a photo of mine, she fell in love with it - not for the religious appeal, but from a folk art perspective - and after looking at many online, I can't agree more. I watched the video of how the artisan makes the retablo and it added even greater value to it. I simply love them. I love the scene behind Mary - the high mountains, and the flowers, in a wooden box with doors. I mounted mine on a wall in my home office and see it from where I sit. I'm buying the next one as a thank you gift for a close friend who I will be visiting in a few weeks.

Excellent!

I am really happy for following my heart regarding this beautiful and excellently craft piece of art! I am myself inspired by the Buddhist spirituality, but the real motivation hasn't to do with me. Several years ago my mother and I visited China. We were at the site of the Great Wall. She couldn't walk and explore it with me because of her age and stayed behind in a shop with our guide. When I came back she said to me: I would like a Buddha figurine. I ignored her request at that moment and later forgot about it. When she died, for a long time that memory had been nagging me but I was pushing it to the back of my consciousness. I received the Buddha sculpture on my birthday, two days before her passing away five year ago. That's why I requested to write on the little greeting card (in Spanish): Mima, deseo cumplido (Mima, wish fulfilled). Thank you, Gung Gus, and also Novica, for helping me fulfill her desire and lighten my pain!
