Jaifah Aksornsri of Thailand creates this beautiful decorative jar that adds a lovely Thai accent to home decor. Hand woven bamboo is used, which is covered in clay and painted in a rich dark green color with a beautiful, trumpeting elephant design on all sides, as well as on the lid. Woven bamboo and cotton rope adorn the exterior in a style that is traditional to Thai rice jars of old. The jar sits on a base of native raintree wood. The name Lanna comes from an ancient region in Northern Thailand that was known as the "Kingdom of a Million Rice Fields."

Shaped like a real human heart, the sculpture can be displayed on a flat surface or on the wall if desired. The unique dark colour and slightly metallic sheen of barro negro are obtained by polishing the clay's surface with a quartz stone before the piece is fired in the kiln.

Working in ceramic, artisans from the Angel Cerón Artisan Association recreate the elaborate stone sculpture known as the "Aztec Calendar" or "Sun Stone."
