Armando Ramírez recycles spark plugs into the lovers' bodies, thick wires for their arms and limbs, and discarded pieces from a die machine for their heads and feet. The bench and base are made of metal sheets from die machines. Ramírez masters this original art form as he successfully conveys the warmth of emotion with cold metal pieces.

From Alok Jain, these delightful garnet earrings are known as jhumki, which means "hanging earrings" in Hindi. They feature diminutive dancing chandeliers on two slender chains. One of the chains can be detached, if desired.

Artisan Wayan Lasti centers the sterling silver chain with the mesmerizing gemstone, which is embraced by intricate leafy motifs. Black onyx gemstones are traditionally known to be gifted on a 10th wedding anniversary, and are believed by some to offer protection.

In this original design by Christopher Nyasafo of Ghana, he depicts a mask styled after young northern Ghanaian women when they are dressed for their wedding ceremonies. The elongated mask is carved by hand from native sese wood and painted in light blue, off-white and orange. The slender visage is adorned with red cotton twine earrings.

Originally from Yunan in China, Akha people live in Thailand's northern hills. Akha women are well known for their spectacular traditional costumes which include a headdress, a jacket worn over a halter-like garment, a short skirt, a sash with decorated ends, and leggings. Akha people are a proud and timeless culture, struggling to preserve their ancestral values through their traditional skills and knowledge. Akhas believe in continuity and see themselves as a link in the chain of life, which includes birth, procreation, the preservation of the Akha way of life – which venerates family life – and death, seen as a meeting with their ancestors.

Evelyn Kafui Ahianyo finds inspiration in the art and customs of the Hiaga clan of southern Ghana. Her modern design replicates the Hia or "Wonderful" lovers sculpture. Couples have this sculpture placed on their bed the first night after their traditional wedding by both mother in-laws. "Rich with folklore, ritualism and unity, there cannot be any misunderstanding between lovers after possessing this sculpture," Ahianyo believes.
