Holding a bone between its teeth, this charming goat will make an excellent addition to your home. Ghanaian artist Winfred Korley creates this animal-themed African mask, which is hand-carved from sese wood and given a clay rub for a rustic finish. He names his design To Kpee Wu, a Ga phrase meaning "a goat chewing a bone." "Because a goat would not normally chew a bone, that fact that it is doing so means something is at stake," the Ghanaian artisan explains.

Incised in sese wood, parallel lines give a modern look to this African mask by Samuel Okyere. The face is covered in richly embossed aluminum. Named Asafo — "Warrior" in the Twi language of the Akan people, it is representative of the Denkyira nation of Eastern Ghana. These Akan peoples wore such masks when drumming and singing war songs in preparation for battle.

The mask is designed for wall display and cannot stand alone.

Representing the Baule people of Côte d'Ivoire, this dramatic mask depicts a ram with powerful horns. Jute cords form a flowing mane while a man sits atop the head, playing the drum. Salihu Ibrahim carves the image from native sese wood and applies white clay for an aged effect. Among the Baule people, the ram represents strength and is sometimes considered a spirit related with agriculture.

Meaning both "Next of Kin" and "Elderly One," this Onukpa mask is part of a celebration that includes festive drumming and dancing. Ghana's Robert Nortey carves the sese wood replica by hand featuring a bird looking down from the crown to the forehead, which is decorated with white clay. Nortey also uses clay to create the textures on the cheeks of this brown mask.
