Better than the picture

This substantial little turtle is more a fine example of alebrije without having the slightly menacing look of many of them. the detail is amazing, and the expression on its face is wonderful - both knowing and olayful. The colors fit well with current decor while retaining a folk art feel.

Exquisite indeed! Amazing details!

Thank you Jesus and Roxana, This turtle is the perfect gift for a friend of mine. I bought this for her to remember three different conversations. I know she will love it and her family will cherish it for many years to come. I was so excited to find one made by Jesus! and at such a low price. I bought it right away. I had some pieces by Jesus and Roxana before their works were available here at Novica....So thank you Novica for bringing more artisans' works to Novica for customers to buy. I check often to see what is new....and never hesitate to buy a piece from Oaxaca when I know that one was made just for me (or just for one of my friends/family members....They are wonderful gifts for friends and family).
