I am familiar with sweet grass baskets woven in my part of South Carolina but have never seen baskets made of pine needles. I am amazed that the weavers are able to keep the strands so perfectly woven that here are no tips or points sticking out in any row. These baskets are much more colorful than the photo shows. I ordered these as a gift to myself, and as a reminder of my recent mission trip to Tecpan. I hope covid “gets gone” so I can return to Guatemala soon. I miss the beautiful land and amazing people.
