“loved it but unable to wear due to gragrance scent”

This was exactly what I wantedboth gorgeous and also warmer than the silk or lightweght wool ones. I was SO disappointed I had to return it because it smelled of fragrance/perfume, to which I am highly allergic. I called Novica to inquire about this, and they contacted the artisan group who confirmed that they use a scented fabric softener in the finishing process. This is very unfortunatle because there are many people who are allergic or intolerant health-wise of fragrances (not to mention that many people simply dont like the scents). I hope the artists will reconsider and not use them. A bit of vinegar works just as well as a nautral fabric softener and leaves no scented residue. This is the reason for only 4 stars. I couldnt bear to knock off any more stars since its beautiful & well-made. I would love to order it or another alpaca shawl again but cant unless they stop using scented products. Once the scent gets into the fibers it is impossible to get out even with washing.

“Even more beautiful than the photo”

Absolutely beautiful, the colors are exquisite. It is finely crafted and the alpaca wool is soft with NO scent (as noted by a previous reviewer). I will order from this artisan again.
