This spooky mask is the creation of Ghana's Emmanuel Austin Ankude. Crafted from sese wood, the mask is sanded smooth, then painted in neutral hues of brown, cream, and grey. The artisan calls the mask Bakongo, after a Bantu ethnic group who inhabit the Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Angola, and Gabon.
