Customer & Stylist Suggestions

Meet the Artist
"The words that bring success in my life are: 'There is no easy process for a beautiful goal, keep working and never give up'."" "My name is Ekayani, and I was born in 1997 in Guwang Sukawati Village, a place renowned for its woodcarving craftsmanship, particularly the art of creating Garuda sculptures. At the intersection leading to Hidden Canyon Beji Guwang, there stands a large Garuda statue, a testament to the village’s rich tradition. Both of my parents are dedicated woodcarvers, and I am grateful to my grandfather for passing down this craft to them, which they continue to practice today.

"I am the eldest of four siblings, and my childhood was filled with love and happiness, thanks to the unwavering support and care of my parents. After I graduated from Brawijaya University at 23, I began working in the university’s chemistry laboratory. While studying, I also served as a practical assistant in the laboratory. After completing my education, I returned to Bali and decided to pursue my career here.

"I worked at Ancient Modern Art in Sanur, where I handled casting administration and developed new designs. This experience sparked my interest in jewelry, and I decided to start my own business in the jewelry art field. My passion for design grew from my time at Ancient Modern Art, and I continue to work in this field to this day.

"I am married and have one son. Life has presented its challenges, particularly when my parents-in-law both fell ill and required extensive medical care. At the same time, my husband and I had to fulfill our duties as Balinese people, participating in important temple ceremonies, which are mandatory for everyone in the village. Despite these hardships, we always pray for strength and a way through our difficulties. The words that bring success in my life are: 'There is no easy process for a beautiful goal, keep working and never give up'.

"In my business, I serve as both a craftsman and a designer, drawing inspiration from the traditional carvings of Bali. I have three skilled craftsmen working with me, one of whom is disabled. The primary material I use is 92.5% pure silver, and my tools include a stove, solder, Blendes machine, and a Foredom.

"My friends often describe me as cheerful, persistent, and never one to give up. I was introduced to Novica by a close friend, and I hope that Novica can assist in promoting and selling my work, helping to support my family and improve our economic situation."
