This adorable pair of ceramic owl sculptures is created by Santodio Paz in Peru, who uses techniques that pre-date the Inca empire. The ancient methods of Chulucanas pottery are known throughout the world, and include the use of naturally colored clay engobes or slips for decoration. Despite the time-honored techniques, the two owls have a decidedly modern, Cubist aesthetic.

“Very beautifully painted.”
