Inspired by tradition and Akan beliefs, Abdulai Osman Adam designs this admirable sculpture featuring two legendary Adinkra images. Adinkra are visual symbols that represent concepts or aphorisms. Detailed in embossed aluminum is Gye Nyame, praising God's supremacy on the top of the elaborate headdress, and Nyame Biribo Wo Soro, symbolizing hope, for "God is in the heavens". A colorful band of African cotton batik creates a harmonious contrast. The Ghanaian artisan carves the sese wood sculpture by hand and decorates it with painted details.
