Los fascinantes ritmos del tambor djembé gritan en celebración en nombre de la aldea de Akwapim. Ubicado en Aburi, este pueblo es famoso por sus jardines botánicos, que inspiran Ernestina Oppong Asante. Tallado a partir de un bloque de madera de tweneboa, este instrumento de percusión tradicional presenta escenas talladas de las actividades cotidianas en Akwapim. La cabeza de piel de cabra está fijada mediante anillos de hierro envueltos en algodón y se puede colgar un cordón de macramé sobre el hombro. El djembé se originó en Benin, donde se utiliza durante los ritos vudú, y se ha introducido en los países vecinos.
