Obo-adaka es un suburbio de Aburi en el este de Ghana; su nombre significa literalmente "caja hecha de roca". Esta máscara de terror de Prince Amartey presenta a un curandero de Obo-adaka, cuya frente prominente, mejillas abultadas y barba áspera de fibras de yute imponen al espectador. Es como si el sanador poseyera rasgos faciales destinados a ahuyentar a los demonios malignos, permitiéndole llevar a cabo sus tareas de salvar vidas. Tallado a partir de un solo bloque de madera de sese y adornado con placas de latón, el complejo diseño seguramente llamará la atención en cualquier entorno.

La obra está tratada con una ligera capa de arcilla china (caolín) y una mezcla de madera blanca para proporcionar un efecto antiguo.

“Impressive mask but colors seem faded”

This is an impressive mask. The only negative feedback I have is that the colors contrast in the picture are not what the mask shows. The colors or shades in the mask are very faded and almost without contrast. That is why I gave it a 3-star rating. But still, it is a nice mask to have on your wall.

“DECORATIVE BOWL”

this beautifully crafted decorative bowl is so much more amazing in hand than the pictures online show, as nice as the pictures are. this was a gift to myself & I dont even know what Ill use it for. I just wanted it! if you, or you know someone who loves rustic, handmade wood items then this bowl is a must. it will forever be a cherished family heirloom. a huge thank you goes out to the artist that made it.
