Vestida como una campesina de principios del siglo XX, Catrina posa en un prado verde. Gorky González crea este colorido plato decorativo utilizando técnicas tradicionales de mayólica. La palabra catrina se usa mucho en México para significar "elegante y pulido". El litógrafo José Guadalupe Posadas creó la Catrina esquelética, quien luego fue inmortalizada en los murales de Diego Rivera.

González firma su obra "AT", para alfarero tradicional (cerámica tradicional).
