El legendario Garuda adorna este brazalete con su rostro orgulloso. Su doble imagen sostiene un centro de ónix negro como símbolo de la redoma que rescató del inframundo. Wayan Sarjana se inspira en las creencias hindúes para diseñar este brazalete en plata de ley.

Del reino de la mitología védica, Garuda tiene la cara de un águila y el cuerpo de un humano, y cuando extiende sus alas oscurece completamente el cielo. La historia cuenta que Garuda una vez fue esclavizado por dos gigantescas serpientes del inframundo llamadas nagas, Cuando se liberó tomó el elixir mágico de la vida, llamado tirtha amertha que encontró en un lugar secreto custodiado por los nagas. Garuda voló directamente a los cielos y los dioses quedaron tan impresionados con su hazaña que le dieron el don de la inmortalidad. Se convirtió en el corcel de Vishnu, transportando a la amada deidad entre el cielo y la tierra. La imagen de Garuda ahora es muy venerada en Bali y aparece con frecuencia en lo alto de las torres de cremación con la creencia de que transportará el alma del difunto a los dioses.

a braclet”

disappointed the design and bracelet is light weight and somewhat flimsily it was described as over one ounce in weight - this does not appear to be so. This is not the substantial bracelet I was expecting. It looks somewhat cheap. I probably will not wear this

He learned silversmithing from his uncle, and sought out Javanese silversmiths to teach him the specialized art of traditional Indonesian handmade chains - a speciality that has been handed down through the generations. Sarjana is dedicated to preserving Indonesian silverwork and hopes to some day teach his children this art.
