This is a lovely ceramic dish with hand-painted designs and a gorgeous glazed finish. It arrived looking just as advertised. Talavera is beautiful and this artisan is very good at it. The dish arrived carefully wrapped and perfect.

I am proud and very grateful to have two of Pedro's pieces for our new kitchenware after losing everything in a CA fire last year. I lived in Spain and in Mexico as a student and have always appreciated the artistry of Talavera-style pottery. The design is intricate, the colors true and gorgeous; the pieces are elegant as weight belies the sturdiness of the pottery. Everything was expertly packed. This tray is really beautiful. I am very happy with it, but I would caution buyers that the finish is not smooth and glossy, as I thought it would be. It?s more of a porous, Terra cotta feel. I say this because, in spite of its description as suitable for food, microwave safe and dishwasher safe, I can?t imagine doing any of those things. I suspect my daughter will use it more for a catch all tray on her bureau. It?s truly lovely.
