Carved by hand, this African mask commemorates a beloved chief in the Northern Region of Ghana. Wilson Aboagye depicts him with a circular face and astute eyes as the personage speaks to his people. "Balumba was a very good person who donated to the orphanages in the North. This chief was touched by the sufferings of his people and took steps to address them," the artisan says.
