The Balinese artisan suspends the "feather"--an oblong piece of natural bone--from sterling silver hooks, where it swings between a sterling silver hoop. Above, a petite garnet beads glows with the gem's signature crimson colour.

These gorgeous carved feathers are the second pair I ve been fortunate to find. The material they are made from are lightweight so am surprised when someone comments on them.
