The unusual shapes and forms of benalu wood, related to the mistletoe, lend themselves to this incredible sculpture from Yudi Suardi in Bali. The artisan carves a fierce lion, mid-roar, as if emerging from a unique piece of benalu wood with a natural finish. The sculpture arrives on a jempinis wood stand.
As each piece of wood is one-of-a-kind, please expect some variation in the shape and size of the sculpture you receive.

Yudi Suardi does beautiful wood carving. This lion has a wonderful expression each piece is unique to the piece of wood from which it is carved. Our lion has a slightly smaller face due to the wood piece used but is still very charming. My family found it to be a wonderful gift and appreciated the work that went into the design and execution of the carving. Love that Novica supports the arts and crafts of people from all over the globe and that it is giving these artists a place to showcase their talent !

Its top heavy and the base is too small so it keeps falling over. Useless.

My husband is a true Leo and loves lions, so when I saw this online, I knew it would be a perfect gift for him for Christmas. It arrived carefully wrapped in a very pretty fashion and when my husband opened it, his eyes lit up! He was so surprised and please! Thank you to everyone who helped make it! I am truly grateful!

I visited Bali 40 years ago and a favorite memory is picking out a few hand carved statues which are still proudly displayed today. I am so glad to see the tradition continued in Bali. This is a gorgeous piece. Thank You!
