Saint Rose of Lima is crowned with the fragrant flowers of her name. Born on August 30, 1586, Isabel Flores de Oliva was the first person born in the Americas to be canonized, in 1671. Each year the devout make a pilgrimage to the chapel in Santa Rosa de Quives where she lived and worshiped.
