Angel Cerón honors Tlaloc, god of earthly waters and fertility, with a pair of handcrafted ceramic statuettes. The people from the Teotihuacán culture believed him to be responsible for drought as well as for floods. This belief spread throughout Mexico, reaching the Maya who referred to him as Chaac, and from there to Central American cultures. The statuettes bear a slightly yellow undertone due to the clay used.

I was so sad to hear of Mr. Ceron s passing. I am also very sorry for this overdue review for his gorgeous artwork. I have bought several of his pieces, and I genuinely cherish all of them. I will continue to buy these most remarkable and highly valued pieces of art from his family of great artists and craftsmen.
