Superbly carved in high relief, a dragon stands guard on a jewelry box. More brave guardians parade around the sides. M. Ayub selects Kashmiri walnut wood for its beautiful grain and extreme hardness to demonstrate his skill. Lined in velvet, a lift-out tray has a special place for rings and the box itself is fully lined. The box features a magic lock and can be opened by sliding the lower front panel of the box to the right side.

I use this box everyday to store some of my rings that I wear daily. It is so well carved with a wonderful dragon. I am thinking of getting another one.

This box was astonishingly beautiful. The pattern was so detailed. The box was large, and the wood was rich. The hidden bar to open the box was an extra delight. To the craftsman, I would just like to say thank you. I feel like it is a personal gift.

Preserving Traditions
Carving walnut wood is a passion for M. Ayub. He loves every aspect of this traditional art that was taught to him as a boy. A single piece can take many years for him to create; the wood must be gathered and carefully preserved before the carving can even begin. Once carved, it must be hand-rubbed with an agate stone to produce a beautiful refined finish. M. Ayub finds that many younger people do not have the patience for this craft and he fears that it is a dying art. He is dedicated to encouraging and motivating others to continue this magnificent Indian traditional craft and he stands ready to teach those willing to learn.
Enabling Education
M. Ayub proudly provides for the education of his son and daughter.
"No artificial color is ever used on my walnut products. They are rubbed with agate stone before a wax polish is applied. It is a colossal investment in terms of time and dedication...."
