Named Apata, an Akan word meaning "tilapia," this African mask celebrates the fruits of the ocean. Ghanaian artisan Winfred Korley creates this mask, which is carved from sese wood in the shape of a fish pointing downward. The face is serene, its forehead decorated with the image of a tilapia. This mask is given a rustic finish in tones of brown and black.
