Many times families will share what little they have with their pets," says Boni from Guatemala. "The woman with her back to us represents the friends we meet on the street, whereas the guy sitting watching the world go by represents those who don't lift a finger when they see someone in trouble - for example he can see the woman is carrying all that firewood and doesn't help her. But, the woman and child don't mind; they keep walking, getting on with life, struggling toward a better future." Boni paints with oils in the style that is known as Comalapa Naïf.
Titled "Regreso del campo" in Spanish.
