Full of joy, a little girl stands on her toes to hug her beloved llama. John Barrow masterfully creates this expressive sculpture, inspired by his admiration of Andean customs and traditions. He sculpts this piece with hand-carved segments of cedar, mahogany and ishpingo woods. He stains the woods with colourful natural dyes.

In the past I have bought this artist s work in Peru and was thrilled I could order additional pieces from Novica to add to my collection. Not only was I able to order pieces I had not seen in Lima, it they were less expensive.

I have several pieces from John Barrow, including every piece Ive seen by him featuring brightly colored birds. Im always watching for when he puts out a new colorful pieces featuring birds, and this was the first Ive seen in a while. I love birds, and the mosaic sculptures he makes are a really great fit when they are colorful. They also have a really nice aromatic smell to them which I think is the wood he usesāIve noticed that smell in Sugos work (also a woodcarver from the Andes) as well.
