Working in the time-honored art form of reverse-painted glass, Peru's Ortiz Family creates this small but beautiful jewelry chest. Featuring two drawers and an upper compartment with a mirror, the wooden chest is covered with glass panes that have been painted on their reverse sides with detailed motifs in subtle shades of parchment, celadon and pistachio. Gleaming gold paint is applied to the trim.

I cannot say enough good things about this beautiful and functional work of art. I bought this with a Mothers Day gift certificate from my daughter. I needed a jewelry box. I had bought one at a flea market and brought it home. It had a very negative vibe, so I threw the flea market box and all my jewelry out in the trash because of the negative vibe. When I opened this beautiful work of art from Peru, I was astounded by the beauty. Even though I paid $100 for it, I realized it was worth much more. God bless the artisans that create such beauty. Im so grateful we can help support their work. And a positive vibe too!

I received my new jewelry box and its so beautiful. Its very well made and the colors are so vibrant. My only (small) complaint is the black paint inside the drawers. I think it would be better if the wood were stained a lighter color inside. Somehow the black color makes things harder to find. But otherwise this is a stunning piece and holds all my pins and bracelets.
