Sese Wood Wall Mask with Bird Motif, "Take Flight"

Inspired by high-flying birds, which are said to represent transcendence and freedom, Beatrice Adwoa Agyemang designs this colourful wall mask. The artisan in Ghana uses local sese wood to hand carve the mask, leaving its wide eyes hollow for a distinctly bird-like appearance.
