The kasa anoma mask is an original design by Ghanaian artisan Sefah Mohammed. Meaning "talking bird" in the Twi dialect of the Akan people, the sese wood mask is adorned with a bird on the forehead, its beak leading on to the nose and opened mouth. Mohammed incorporates embossed aluminum plates on the cheeks and forehead, and completes the mask with yellow, red and black painted details, masterfully creating a weathered illusion.

I have been collecting masks for a number of years. I recently returned from a three week trip through Southern Africa, and hadnt seen any masks of this type while there. I like the uniqueness of this design and the bird on top of the human face. There are so many masks to choose from, that it took me a very long time to pick this one, but Im glad I did.
