Details

A woman stands with arms outstretched, crafted of Ghanaian sese wood with a charming, antiqued finish. Featuring a characteristically exaggerated head, this fertility doll represents an African tradition, often given to women who are hoping to conceive. Hand-carved by Winfred Korley, the sculpture is adorned with beaded jewelry of recycled glass. Korley names the sculpture Mansa, an Akan name given to third-born women.
